What astounded me about this book was how current some of the stories seem today, despite being written almost 40 years ago. OF course, some seemed a little too self-indulgent (Riders of the Purple Wage especially), but the simpler ones with a nice little punch seemed to be the best of the bunch. ...more...

This collection was quite an eye-opener at the time of publication in 1967 and impressed me two years later when I borrowed a copy from a friend soon after beginning college. Having read, I can already give it a rating. Nostalgia time, with the "NEW" writers being such venerables as Larry Niven. Ah, seeing the Dangerous Visions of 1967 again. Good stuff, good stuff.

Sci-fi that is more on the edge and weird, some of it is enjoyable, some of it, not so much...
