A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 2) continues George R.R. Martin’s epic series. It practically starts off where the first book left off — I can’t imagine anyone reading the second book without reading the first. I was hoping that some of the conflicts would be resolved in this bo...more...

I always say that CoK is the most underrated book in the series for a variety of reasons; most notably Tyrion in power, Jon beyond the Wall, Davos with Stannis and the destruction of men in search of power. All the while, political intrigue reaches a zenith as Tyrion battles with his sister and thei...more...

A Clash of Kings is the second book from George RR Martin in the series a song of fire and ice. In the first book, a game of thrones, we are introduced to the great land of Westeros and the struggle for power that has erupted. Our story here starts right where book one left off, following characters...more...

Before now, the longest book i had read was Order of the Phoenix with 870, Clash of Kings had 969. I didnt like it as much as game of thrones, mainly because it was longer, and the characters and writing style arent as fresh as they were in game of thrones. Still, 5 stars because Mart...more...

"Those not typically into this genre may find something to like here." This is where those people get off. A Clash of Kings is A Game of Thrones x2. More names, more political intrigue, more feasts, more descriptions of armor, more, more, more. Unfortunately the "more"...more...

Read most of this in a bed-and-breakfast in Sardinia, on vacation from my vacation. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first one. At times I wonder if George R. R. Martin likes the pillage as much as some of the personages in here do - has anyone ever suggested to these people that m...more...

This is by far, the best series that I have had the pleasure of reading...ever..... in my entire existence... period. A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords and A feast for Crows are addictive, gripping, character driven novels that tie flawlessly together book after boo...more...

The first book in this series took about a hundred pages to be truly gripping, but this book starts out with scenes that are brooding and intense. While it doesn’t quite retain the intensity throughout its considerable length it comes close which is quite a feat. The horrors of war are well explor...more...

There's something about this series that is starting to get annoying. I'm not for a second suggesting that this book is anything less than brilliant, but something is not quite right. At first, the fact that 'good' guys could get killed off just as easily as 'bad' guys was very appealing and refre...more...
