I want to read this book to understand how a brand new religion takes root in the modern world. I do not expect to be converted to Scientology, but you never know. ------------------------ Well, that was as brutal a read as I have ever forced myself to do. The book absolutely p...more...

I originally read this book in 1978. I realized while reading it why I was doing street drugs and completely quit. I also realized why I was having so much trouble with relationships. I am so glad that part of my life is over and I've never regretted it for a second! I've now remained drug free,...more...

The scientologists lured me in one sleepy summer when my brain was mushable and I took their tests and read this book and somehow I was smart enough to see through the whole mess, and this was way before all of Hollywood was signing up for it. When I read Dianetic...more...

This book answered many questions for me. It helped me sort out my life and begin to take control. If you are having trouble with anything in your life, this book can help.

You may have heard of it. I could give it a 5 if I gave points for sucking brains. L. Ron was beyond the pale.

I read this in high school. I called the contact number on the back, and ended up coming about two meetings away from being swept up into Scientology. Read it, but don't read too much into it.

By far, one of the most important books that I have ever read in my life. I would have to say that at first I was a little initimated by it because of its length. However, after I got started I learned a lot more about myself and why I am the way that I am. Anyone who has read this book and has n...more...

The basic premise is that everything bad about you comes from negative things that happened around you as a foetus and young child; essentially before you became self-aware enough to have "psychic" defenses. This is the basis of Scientology and it is utter crap. A pseudo-lie-detector is ...more...

This book is worth reading because 1)it's an interesting read, and 2) it's nice to learn about something that is somewhat prevalent in the news (Scientology). I know Scientology has gotten a lot of bad press lately, but I think the book can stand on its own as a good read. The book claims a lot, ...more...
