I really wish that I could put 1/2 stars, to give those three stars I rated this book an extra umph. Oh, well. It's cute, very enjoyable, and an easy read. The author writes well and there were moments where I laughed out loud, which is rare. The main character's moods, though plenty varied, are a l...more...

This is a nice, lightweight paranormal story, verging a bit towards the romance novel (although since I don't read the genre, I might be way off). The prose is a straightforward first-person narrative, and felt somewhat similar to that in Sue Grafton's alphabet mysteries, although Harris ...more...

I feel a little silly reading this book, but a good friend gave it to me and I told her I'd give it a try. She and I usually like the same books. Except for having read the Twilight series, I am not usually a fan of vampire books. I finished this book today. I definitely wondered what I h...more...

I jumped to this for a quick read after a collection of nonfiction essays, and I wasn't disappointed. I think it took me about a week to finish, admittedly with some late night sessions. I was interested in the book because it's the source material for a new favorite television series,...more...

Several people have been bugging me to try this series for a while now. Well I finally read the first one, courtesy of my sister giving me the book to read. I enjoyed it thoroughly and read it quickly. It is not as light as it seems (I don't know between the cover art, the font of the t...more...

I was disappointed. I've heard so much about these books and they seem to be held up as the standard for urban fantasy but...meh. The main character was annoying because she was so naive. She also seems to be confusing love and sex. And really, the vampire hadn't been with another virgin in 500 year...more...

A good series but sadly with really ugly covers A few years ago I tried reading this book. I just couldn't get into it. I've noticed how some people in their reviews wrote about how Harris didn't explain things off the bat. I actually agreed with that before, it was so aggravating. BUT T...more...

I wondered if watching the HBO series, "True Blood" first would have an ill effect on reading this book, but it didn't. There were differences; no Tara & a few others, but nothing that ruined it for me. I'm looking forward to reading the next books soon. It's an interesting ta...more...

Ok. This novel has taught me to Never.Ever.Ever. judge a book by its cover Ever.Ever. again! I would see these books all over Borders and Barnes and Nobles and never give them a second glance. Not because it was sci-fi (which I like). Not because it was Vampire sci-fi (wh...more...

You know when you buy a pint of ice cream and you think it is a good idea because it is smaller than a big tub of ice cream but as soon as you start eating it, you can't stop and then before you know it you've eaten the entire thing. You feel sick and guilty but you know you will go back and do it a...more...
