This book is full of common sense. On the one hand, you already know everything you'll read in this book. On the other, if you ever feel like you don't have enough time in the day, you'll want to remind yourself of those things by reading Allen's book. I have trouble remembering things un...more...

I read this book on Kindle. I'd suggest reading it in paper instead, as some of the lists he makes are unintelligible regardless of the font size chosen on the Kindle. While Allen does mention many of the methods and support materials with which anyone who's obsessed with organization is...more...

Apparently this book has a legion of fanatical followers, which I didn't know when I picked it up. (I get my book recommendations from the Unshelved Book Club, and seeing Tamara and Mel talk about processing their action items was good enough for me.) A couple of months into applying Allen's suggest...more...

Serendipitously read this entire book today ... Ironically, already implementing a very similar system of "natural planning" as outlined on page 56:1. Defining purpose and principles2. Outcome visioning3. Brainstorming4. Organizing5. Identifying next actions...more...

I try to re-read this book periodically to re-fresh myself of the basic ideas and principles of it. I am not a full "GTD" adapter, but I do find that some of the ideas within has made a big difference with getting myself organized and staying on track ("two minute" rule, filing...more...

A classic. So many people have used Allan's tools, they have already shown they work. The trouble is getting though the book. Allan has about 5 good ideas, but these could easily be summed up in a third of space, and so it is easy to put this book down and forget it. The first third is a long-wi...more...

I'm sure there are other get-your-shit-organized books that are just as good or better, but this was the one that changed my life. I'm not completely organized, but the GTD methodology at least makes me feel like I can be as organized as I want to be, especially when paired with the online resources...more...

When I'm reading a good book... or shortly after I finish a book, I have a tendency to feel that it's the best book ever. After reading "Getting Things Done", I felt the same way. I loved the book. I loved the "tricks" and ideas presented. I thought it was the best book ever....more...

Rather difficult to review this book, as I haven't had a chance to put it into practice yet. I'm sort of in limbo between 2 households. This is a long review, and I have skipped some minor points, but I think this is it in a nutshell. **spoiler alert** In places GTD...more...

I've seen this book on almost every list of self-improvement books, and know that it spawned followers like 43folders.com and the Get-It-Done Guy podcast, so I had to read it. The format was somewhat confusing; it starts with an overview of the main points that didn't seem high-level enough; there w...more...
