Summary

In 1893, Chloe intends to stay a short time with her brother Joe and his family on their ranch in Oklahoma Territory. She soon finds herself embroiled in Joe's clumsy matchmaking efforts, while at the same time catching the interest of nosy and possibly dangerous ghost named Fire Horse. All Max McKee wants is to buy a few horses. Yet he gets entangled in Joe's scheme to marry off the lovely and quite wealthy Chloe, who happens to be the owner of those horses. A man with many secrets, Max knows he should stay away from Chloe but finds her irresistible. When a series of fires has local homesteaders spooked, Chloe and Max must work together to discover who is setting those fires and try not to get themselves killed in the process.
