Pretty amusing. I like how the romance is so unusually "usual". This was an abridged book, so not sure what I missed from the book.

I'm a bit ashamed to say that this was the first I've HEARD of Mr. Leacock, let alone READ any of his many works. I thoroughly enjoyed this small town tale and the inhabitant characters I found within the pages

I had to read this for one of my university classes about a hundred years ago, but it's stuck with me since then. Growing up in a small town, myself, I could relate to a lot of the themes, and could even imagine characters in the book living in my town.
