About Liz Hunter

As a sophomore in high school, Liz Hunter was required to submit three choices for a career to her guidance counselor. Her first choice? Writer. Rejected as unrealistic. Second choice, veterinarian, rejected as unrealistic. Her third choice was accepted, so she went on to earn a degree in medical technology from Pennsylvania State University. Years later, homebound in Upstate New York during a five day blizzard with a brown paper sack full of romance novels a friend had given her, Ms. Hunter soon realized that part of her fascination with these romances stemmed from her dormant desire to write. The actual process of publishing her own novel took more years that she's willing to admit. Beyond the Shadow was a 1994 Golden Heart finalist and a 1999 finalist in both The Fabulous Five and The Golden Contract Contests, the latter earning her a publishing contract from Hard Shell Word Factory. Ms. Hunter is a member of Romance Writers of America, Wisconsin RWA, and a charter member of The Golden Network. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband of twenty-eight years and their teenage daughter, two cats, a hamster named Rodney and a saltwater fish tank. In addition to writing, Ms. Hunter manages a paramedical exam company.
