Summary: A preacher's wife is murdered in her apartment. A police department searching for the killer discovers that the reverend himself may have hired the murderer. Newspaper reporter Ben Engle must piece together the puzzle that will lead him to Charles Kelton, a billionaire industrialist possessed by the devil who has pledged to bring down men of God like Reverend Henry Franklin.
But first, Engle must overcome his feelings of inadequacy in a job he has only because his uncle is the editor, as well as his own bias against religion. |
