Kennie's step into poetry was nothing short of controversial it all started back in 1999 when he was in school and was asked by his teacher as an in class assignment to write about a dream, nightmare or something that has happened in his life. With Kennie not being a popular student he decided to write about what goes on everyday at school and maybe that shit would get stopped. So he wrote about all the harassment that he goes through from the moment he enters the school in the morning to when he gets off the bus in the afternoon. The teacher some how took offence to it and passed it on to numerous teachers and the piece of writing made it home before Kennie did. Although it caused much controversy in school and it labeled him a "psycho" they also thought that if a Colorado type shooting would happen that he'd be one of the gun men. After 3 weeks of pure hell with going to school psychiatrist after psychiatrist he then thought a lot of things but when numerous times at night he woke up and started to type on his little old computer about what was going through his mind and what was happening at school as his own little emotional gateway. Shortly before 2000 he dropped out of school and started to write more on his newer computer, Christmas of 99 brought a computer into Kennie's life with the internet which opened up a whole new world to him. He took it upon himself to learn how to create websites and promoted his stuff by anyway possible. Find out more »
Now its almost 7 years later he's more into poetry than half the poets out there, although rejected by the poetic society he still continues to write most of his material is dubbed "controversial" by many poetic web sites and they tend to try to put boundaries on Kennie however he always goes past any of the boundaries, he's even been booted off of many poetic sites due to the controversial material that he produces.
Music was never really a part of Kennie's life, sure he heard music constantly but he never really paid any attention to it. Till around 1995 when wrestling was introduced into Kennie's life, as a friend of his rented Wrestlemania X and they watched it, shortly after Kennie found that wrestling was on TV so he began to grew an interest into it, when the WWE (at time WWF) put out a CD called "WWF Full Metal The Album" Kennie picked it up, being a fan of wrestling and such. The music would creep into Kennie's life as while he was listening to the music he kept thinking "You know I could do this, I know I sound like shit on the microphone but I can make music like this since for the most part it's just instrumentals" Kennie played that CD over and over getting to know music well, the second CD he even bought was "WWF The Music Volume 2" this also became part of Kennie's constant rotation of music, if it wasn't one of the CD's it would be the other one that he would be listening to. The next CD Kennie bought was "WWF The Music Volume 4" since Volume 3 had professional artists on it he wasn't really a fan of it he was more into the music for just the music. Those 3 CD's would be in constant rotation over the next several years of his life, on "WWF The Music Volume 3" one of the favorites of Kennie's in which did get allot of play time in his CD player he was introduced to a band known as "Insane Clown Posse" as they performed a song called "Oddities" which became one of the favorite tracks of Kennie's on the 3 CD's he had. Shortly after that Kennie picked up a wrestling magazine called "WOW" which in the back had an article regarding Insane Clown Posse and there latest CD which at the time was "The Amazing Jeckal Brothers" Of course Kennie did go out and buy that CD when he got the chance, and that CD was again an introduction to various things to him (as well as a way to piss off his parents with lyrics they didn't like). Since then Kennie has been very into listening to music, and buying anything that sounds good to him. He mostly listens to the independent artists.
Shortly after the death of Kennie's father in late December 2005, he felt himself go down a spiral... Not eating, not doing or saying much. After sitting down one night and thinking about his mother, he quickly came to the conclusion that no matter what goes on he has to be strong for her, although being strong at this point was new to Kennie. Within the first few months of 2006 Kennie was forced to move back in with his Mother and Brother, not looking forward to it but even looking at having to make some big changes rather quick he looked more and more to the pen as a let out for his frustrations that he didn't let out verbally or physically in the world.
With the pen in hand an his girl on his arm both Kennie & Crystal began to write more, they began going to local parks just to allow the thoughts to soar so they weren't confined into a small room. While at some parks the writing caused issues with people considering they thought that Kennie & Crystal were there taking notes on what people were doing, however that wasn't the case.
The more and more Kennie wrote the more he began to have confidence in his writing which in Kennie's life to this point confidence in anything wasn't possible. A new attitude began to show in Kennie some think it was him being an asshole while others really seen what he was doing.
"If a musician can do it, why can't a poet" became Kennie's words to live by shortly there after, as with any CD he picked up he seen that many musicians have collaborated on songs together and are willing to work together. But now here's Kennie in a totally different market, the market known as Poetry. With the same words in his mind he began to start looking at independent talent to help get himself out there. Without thinking twice he started to message various groups an artists through myspace and asking them to be apart of upcoming releases... at first it was all "No !", then when Kennie messaged MARZ, he had these words of advice for Kennie "Tell them what you can do for them, to help promote an get there name out." So with that Kennie took to it, he gave a huge attempt at getting various artists for the release "Torn Between Heaven & Hell" Although due to some misdirection Kennie didn't give the artists long enough time to get there work in. But with the upcoming release "Be Yourself", not only has Kennie been mentioned on a internet radio station, but also Kennie has been getting artists like fucking crazy to be apart of it... an when asked "what's next" Kennie had this to say:
"What's Next ?, you ask.... Well back to my lines to live by "If a musician can do it, why can't a poet", I have plenty of ideas up in my head and you better fucking believe that I'm going to do EVERYTHING under the sun with Coyotes Publishing, not only poetry either we're looking at COMICS and more MUSIC plus a whole lot else so be sure to keep your eyes peeled cause as it says in the slogan for Coyotes Publishing "New Breed Of Publishing & Poet" and we're just that !!."
With that Kennie's point of being strong for people continued to be on the rise, as June 2nd 2006 rolled around Kennie & Crystal were suppose to be going away for a week to get away for allot of shit that was going on, however that wasn't the case since on that very day Crystal ended up breaking her leg, so Kennie's strength for her continued to grow even though he continues to be there for her in support what Kennie is doing is far from slowing down even though it is involving Crystal as much as possible. With being limited on what she can do Kennie remains strong and is always pushing forward and doing more and more with Coyotes Publishing, so don't go thinking that just because Crystal is laid up in bed with a broken leg that's going to slow Kennie down by any means cause that truly is a wrong thought to have.
99.9% poets out there have decided to stick to one type of poetry but when it comes to Kennie Kayoz he's not afraid to step into any type of poetry you can toss his way, always willing to express his thoughts, ideas and beliefs through the art of poetry in anyway shape or form, he is the only poet who can go from collabing with you on "positive poetry" to turning around and dropping the poetry in which he writes about bloody murder mayhem.
Never afraid to mix it up, as his publishing companies slogan "A New Breed Of Publishing & Poets", the new breed stands in himself.
Not only can Kennie mix it up with any type of poetry that you bring his way, but he's more than willing to collab with not only poets but artists alike. Looking to change the face of not only poetry but of how people look upon at poets, Kennie has went out and asked many artists to submit lyrics for projects that he's released. Never going to take "NO !" for an answer, Kennie is heading towards the diamonds and the money.
"The King Of Poetry" is another thing that Kennie calls himself cause in his eyes he is just that, no poet has anything on him, droppin poetry quicker than any poet out there an takin poets under his wing to show them how to get the most out of there talent, to show them that they have more resources out there than what you can possibly imagine.
"The Platinum Poet" if poetry was measured by content then Kennie deeply feels that he truly is "The Platinum Poet", not only the hottest poet on the rise but the hottest poet in the world to this very date and from here on out, perhaps too cocky in some eyes but always showing the world what he can do.
"The Platinum Poet With Venomous Fangs" not only does Kennie consider himself a "Platinum Poet" but he also has "Venomous Fangs", he's been banned from numerous poetry sites for the content in his poetry as he's touched numerous subjects and not afraid to show how he really feels, always trying to censor poetry but Kennie is here to make everyone realize that he's not going to be censored, although some of his poetry has gotten raved reviews from numerous sites but when his "Venomous Fangs" kick in his poetry is known to have more affect on you than your willing to let people know.
